Mitrovic scores last-gasp winner for Fulham

Aleksandar Mitrovic ended his goal drought with a dramatic stoppage-time winner over a relegation rivals Huddersfield.

Clinching only the Whites’ third win of the season, the Serbian latched onto substitute Ryan Sessegnon’s pass and swept the ball through keeper Jonas Lossl’s legs.

Fulham had looked destined for a goalless draw after substitute Aboubakar Kamara missed an 82nd-minute penalty that Lossl saved.

And Mitrovic, who had not scored since November, missed three good chances to head his side in front earlier in the game.

He met two Jean Michael Seri corners in the first half but nodded them both off target before Lossl saved a close-range effort at his near post after the break.

Huddersfield had looked more threatening early on and Fulham keeper Sergio Rico saved a long-range effort from Phillip Billing and a close-range header from Steve Mounie.

But Ranieri introduced Kamara up front with Mitrovic in the second half and he won the penalty he missed when he flicked the ball into the arm of Terriers defender Chris Lowe.

The visitors were given renewed hope of snatching a late winner but Fulham broke down the pitch through Sessegnon and he set up Mitrovic to ignite pandemonium in the stands.
