Cairney signs new five-year Fulham contract

Cairney’s play-off winner at Wembley clinched promotion for Fulham

Fulham captain Tom Cairney has signed a new five-year contract and says he wants to finish his career with the club.

There has been speculation about the futures of a number of Whites players following the club’s relegation back to the Championship.

But Cairney, whose play-off winner at Wembley last year took Fulham up, will be staying at Craven Cottage.

“The club has been amazing to me,” said the 28-year-old Scotland international.

“To extend my contract again is an amazing feeling. I want to stay for a long time, and hopefully finish my career here.

“This place feels like home. I don’t think you can put a price on happiness, and your life off the pitch as well, and I can’t see myself anywhere else.”
