Berbatov and Senderos depart Fulham

Dimitar Berbatov and Phillipe Senderos have left Fulham and signed for Monaco and Valencia respectively.

Berbatov, who is out of contract in the summer, has joined the French giants until the end of the season while Senderos has agreed a permanent switch to La Liga.

The pair follow Aaron Hughes out of Craven Cottage after the Northern Irishman joined neighbours QPR earlier on a busy transfer deadline day.

Fulham replaced Berbatov by spending around £11m on Olympiakos striker Konstantinos Mitroglou and hope to bring in Everton centre-back Johnny Heitinga to plug the gap in the defence.

Berbatov, who turned 33 on Thursday, scored 15 Premier League goals for Fulham last season but has managed only five this term.

The Bulgarian had been linked with moves to Arsenal and former club Tottenham during the transfer window.

But the former Manchester United striker has ended up at Claudio Ranieri’s Monaco, who have been searching for a striker since Radamel Falcao suffered anterior cruciate ligament damage last week.
