Fulham are beaten by Cazorla’s double

Arsenal 2 Fulham 0

Second-half goals from Santi Cazorla saw off Fulham at the Emirates Stadium.

They managed to frustrate Arsenal for much of the game and Steve Sidwell almost put the visitors ahead with a volley.

But the Premier League leaders opened the scoring when Cazorla finished off a nice move, and he struck again by firing in from near the edge of the penalty area.

Fulham defended resolutely before Jack Wilshere linked up nicely with Olivier Giroud and then set up Cazorla, who side-footed home.

And after Nacho Monrea’s cross was only half-cleared, Cazorla’s emphatic strike doubled Arsenal’s lead.

Keeper Maarten Stekelenburg prevented a third goal by tipping substitute Lukas Podolski’s powerful shot onto the post.

And Darren Bent missed a chance to pull a goal back for Fulham when he shot wide.

Fulham: Stekelenburg; Riether, Burn, Hangeland, Richardson; Dejagah (Bent 68), Sidwell, Parker, Kacaniklic (Kasami 86); Dempsey, Berbatov.
Subs not used: Stockdale, Riise, Karagounis, Duff, Hughes.
