Arbeloa insists there is a ‘very positve attitude’ among Fulham squad

Alvaro Arbeloa has sought to play down apparent unrest among some Fulham players.

Alex Iwobi and Emile Smith Rowe recently deleted all of their club-related Instagram posts, and Kevin posted a cryptic Instagram story.

Arbeloa, still waiting for his first win as Whites boss, insisted he is happy with the attitude of his squad – and expects players to be unhappy when they are not selected.

“You can learn more about a group after a defeat than after a win, and I saw them work during the week with a very positive attitude,” said Arbeloa.

“For sure, if) you are a player and you are not playing you can’t be happy, and it is what I expect from the players that they are not playing, and they need to show me that they are not happy during the training session – for me this is the most important thing.

“They have all worked with a very positive attitude this week. I have a very good group with a very good attitude.”

Arbeloa also insisted that Kenny Tete, who has not featured under him – and recently almost joined Everton – remains “so important” and needs to “keep working and being patient”.

It has been a tough start to the Spaniard’s tenure and this weekend Fulham face a daunting trip to face Liverpool at Anfield.

But he said: “I didn’t come here just for three games or a month, I came here because I wanted to improve this club. That’s where my energy goes.”
