Aluko’s winner puts Fulham in play-off zone

Rotherham 0 Fulham 1

Sone Aluko’s goal took Fulham into the play-off places and confirmed Rotherham’s relegation.

Aluko pounced on the loose ball to score after Stefan Johansen’s effort from Scott Malone’s cross had been cleared off the line.

The goal midway through the second half gave the Whites a deserved win and took them above Sheffield Wednesday into sixth.

Rotherham had chances, with Danny Ward missing with a free header and keeper David Button producing a vital save to deny Jon Taylor.

Fulham also created opportunities before eventually taking the lead.

Aluko fired wide after being found by Tom Cairney, who then set up Chris Martin only for the striker to fail to connect.

Martin also sent a header wide from Neeskens Kebano’s cross but Fulham’s pressure finally paid off.
