Latest speculation over Austin and Celtic are linked with Blues youngster

A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving QPR and Chelsea…

Speculation continues over the future of Charlie Austin, with West Ham again linked with the QPR striker.

The Hammers are considering trying to do a deal with Rangers by offering players in exchange, according to the Daily Mail.

Matt Jarvis and Kevin Nolan are touted as the possible makeweights to be offered to QPR, who want £15m for Austin.

Other clubs continue to be linked with Austin despite not making an approach – and the Mail say West Ham face stiff competition from Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Southampton.

The north-east media continue to insist that Newcastle are trying to capture Austin, with the Newcastle Chronicle again suggesting that Magpies boss Steve McClaren is keen to sign him.

And Palace are looking to sign QPR goalkeeper Alex McCarthy, according to The Times.

There is further speculation about Chelsea’s supposed interest in Barcelona star Pedro.

The Daily Mirror quotes the forward as saying he has “received important offers” and claims the Blues are readying a four-year deal.

But reports in Spain, picked up in the UK by the Daily Star, suggest Barca will look to hang on to him if Joan Laporta wins the club’s upcoming presidential election.

And FourFourTwo run further quotes from Pedro saying: “I haven’t spoken to [Jose] Mourinho, but I don’t want to say anything else because it would be disrespectful to my club.”

Meanwhile, The Times say Celtic are interested in signing Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo on loan next season.
