Transfer gossip: Sunday Mirror say Stoke want Traore

Some of the transfer speculation involving Chelsea in Sunday’s newspapers.

Stoke want to sign Chelsea’s Bertrand Traore this summer, the Sunday Mirror say.

Traore, 21, has impressed while on loan at Ajax this season and Stoke boss Mark Hughes is said to be keen to snap him up.

The Sunday Mirror say Traore is not in Blues boss Antonio Conte’s plans and that Hughes has sent scouts to watch the player in action.

Hughes is reported to be looking to add to his attacking options amid speculation over the futures of Jon Walters, Peter Crouch and Mame Biram Diouf.

The Sunday Mirror also claim Chelsea are ready to make a £20m move for Italian midfielder Domenico Berardi.

Berardi, 22, is currently at Sassuolo after being sold by Juventus, who reportedly have a buy-back clause of £15m.

Meanwhile, the Sunday Express reckon Leicester are leading the race to sign striker Tammy Abraham on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

The Mail on Sunday say Conte has told the Chelsea hierarchy to make signing Romelu Lukaku from Everton a priority.

And The Sun on Sunday claim Virgil van Dijk is heading to Stamford Bridge in a move that will cost Chelsea £100m in fees and wages.

The Southampton defender is tipped to move for £50m and earn at least £200,000 a week.
