Chelsea keen for duo to stay, Telegraph say

A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving Chelsea…

Chelsea will reject any bids for Diego Costa and will also try to keep back-up goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, the Daily Telegraph say.

Both players have previously been tipped leave Stamford Bridge this summer, with Costa linked with a return to his former club Atletico Madrid.

However, the Telegraph say Costa has reported for pre-season training in good condition, having returned overweight last year.

Chelsea are therefore said to be keen for the striker to stay along with Begovic, even though first-choice keeper Thibaut Courtois is also expected to remain at the club.

The Telegraph also say Chelsea have opened talks over the signing of Leicester midfielder N’Golo Kante, who has long been linked with the Blues.

There is reportedly a £20m release clause in Kante’s contract, but the clause still apparently allows Leicester to sell to the highest bidder.

Kante, 25, has rejected a potential move to Chinese club Shanghai SIPG, it is claimed.

Meanwhile, Portuguese newspaper A Bola reckon Chelsea are preparing a £34m bid for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Mario.

And reports in Arda Turan’s native Turkey continue to claim Chelsea are interested in signing the Barcelona midfielder.
