Tottenham v Fulham player ratings

Dimitar Berbatov’s second-half winner against his former club earned Fulham a shock victory. Here’s how we rated the players in their superb win at White Hart Lane.

Mark Schwarzer: 8
Pulled off some fine saves to prevent Spurs from scoring, including an instinctive stop to deny Jermain Defoe in the final minute.

Sascha Riether: 7
One of Fulham’s best players this season and had another fine game defensively, shutting down Tottenham’s attacking threat on the left-hand side throughout the game.

Brede Hangeland: 7
The Fulham captain easily coped with Emmanuel Adebayor. Hangeland missed a glorious chance to put Fulham two ahead, however, when he headed wide following a flick-on by Bryan Ruiz.

Philippe Senderos: 6
Tottenham’s lack of creativity in the final third meant Senderos had little to trouble him, but he overcomplicated a number of situations that should have been simple.

John Arne Riise: 7
Riise is another player who has been improving of late after a poor spell earlier in the season. He did well.

Ashkan Dejagah: 7
Enjoyed some penetrating runs down the right-hand side in the second half and should have done better with a late header at the far post when he had only Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris to beat.

Steve Sidwell: 7
The midfielder recovered from a knock and only trained on Friday, but picked up his excellent form of late with another solid display in midfield.

Giorgos Karagounis: 7
Despite a few comical moments over-exaggerating the effect of fouls against him, the man who manager Martin Jol labelled a “war horse” before the game once again lived up to that tag.

Damien Duff: 6
Fulham were restricted to less than a handful of chances, so Duff’s attacking threat was limited, but he put in another excellent shift for his side.

Bryan Ruiz: 6
His effectiveness was also limited but he used the ball well and his neat flick-on set up Hangeland for what should have been a second goal soon after Berbatov fired Fulham ahead.

Dimitar Berbatov: 7
Berbatov struck against his old club with a typically deft finish from close range and there were moments of class from the Bulgarian as he grew into the game in the second half.

Eyong Enoh: 6
Enoh made his debut as a second-half substitute following his arrival on-loan from Ajax in January. He saw little of the ball but Jol will be pleased to finally have him fit and available.
