Paper talk: Speculation over Conte’s future

There is more speculation over the future of Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.

The Sun on Sunday say contract talks with the Italian have stalled and that he is believed to be frustrated about the Blues’ summer transfer business.

It follows recent reports that Conte, who led Chelsea to the title last season, wants greater control over transfers and is unhappy that some of his targets have been missed.

More speculation about his future comes after Leonardo Bonucci agreed a move from Juventus to Bayern Munich and amid reports that Chelsea have had a final bid for Juve left-back Sandro rejected.

Conte is keen to bring in Sandro and has been consistently linked with Bonucci, who previously played under him for Juve and Italy.

The Sun on Sunday also say Nemanja Matic has told Chelsea he wants his future to be resolved in the next 48 hours.

Manchester United’s former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is said to be keen to sign Matic, who has also been linked with Arsenal, Juventus and Inter Milan.

It is claimed that Chelsea have told Matic he can leave for £40m but that they are reluctant to sell the Serbian midfielder to another Premier League club.
