Someone will get a hiding from Chelsea and it might well be Villa

Jose Mourinho has never lost successive home league games as Chelsea manager – and I expect the Blues to get back to winning ways against Aston Villa on Saturday when the Premier League returns following the latest international break.

Villa have not kept a Premier League clean sheet at Chelsea since March 1998 and have conceded a total of 30 goals in their last eight visits to the Bridge.

The Blues meanwhile have scored in their last 23 home league games – the longest current run of its kind in the top flight.

Mourinho’s side are 1/3 with BetVictor with the draw 9/2 and Villa 19/2 to pull off a shock victory.

Diego Costa is 10/3 to score the opening goal and a shade of odds-on at 4/5 to find the back of the net at anytime during the game.

Villa have scored in their last nine away games in the league, and you can have 2/1 with BetVictor for Chelsea to win and both teams to score.

We have updated our prices on how many points Chelsea will collect this season and bet 68 or more at 5/6 – which has already had its supporters.

I fancy a comprehensive 3-1 (12/1) or 4-1 (21/1) home win. I’m convinced the champions are going to give someone a hiding soon and what better place to start than at the weekend against a Villa side who haven’t won since the opening day of the season and currently sit four points from safety in the table.

A win would likely see Chelsea reduced from the current odds of 20/1 to regain the title.

Leaders Manchester City currently head the market as the 8/11 favourites but with star striker Sergio Aguero ruled out for at least a month, their odds look skinny to say the least.

Aguero is similarly the favourite to be the Premier League’s leading goalscorer this term. He is 6/4 for the golden boot but Diego Costa, at 33/1, should be able to reward each-way support for the second year in succession.

Be lucky.
