QPR emphatically secured their first win under Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink with a 3-0 triumph at Rotherham. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player.

Alex Smithies: 7
A decent display on his return to the side. Looked solid and composed.

James Perch: 7
Came on strong in the second half as Rangers dominated. Got forward well from right-back.

Nedum Onuoha: 8
Had a fine game at the back and rescued Rangers with a brilliant last-ditch challenge to deny Matt Derbyshire in the first half. It proved to be a crucial moment in the game.

Grant Hall: 7
Another calm and impressive performance from the centre-back, whose excellent season continues.

Paul Konchesky: 5
Given the runaround by Rotherham’s on-loan Tottenham youngster Grant Ward in the first half. Was given some respite when Rangers dominated after the break.

Massimo Luongo: 7
Showed glimpses of his ability in the first half and flourished in the second as QPR knocked the ball around. He was involved in much of their best work and the highlight of his performance was a terrific through-ball to set Matt Phillips up for the second goal.

hasselbaink2Hasselbaink on Luongo:He is somebody who likes to get on the ball, who can influence strikers and who can pick a pass. On the other hand, he needed to do the dirty stuff – and he did. That was pleasing to see.”

Karl Henry: 6
Ragged on the ball at times but did an important job closing down in midfield.

Matt Phillips: 7
Poor in the first half, when a terrible corner summed up his initial contribution. Was transformed after the interval though, scoring a fine goal and enjoying himself as Rotherham faded.

Leroy Fer: 7
Showed plenty of quality and worked hard to support Sebastian Polter up front. Set up the German’s late goal.

Junior Hoilett: 8
Positive and hardworking even in the first half when his team struggled. He scored the all-important opening goal with a composed finish after riding two challenges and can be well pleased with his performance.

Sebastian Polter: 7
A late goal was his reward for a tireless display up front. Lacks quality but makes things happen when he is willing to work hard – and he was more than willing to do so.
