Reports: Newcastle try again for Remy and Torres close to £10m move

Newcastle have reportedly made another approach for QPR striker Loic Remy.

The France international spent last season on loan at St James’ Park and has made it clear he is not keen on a permanent move.

However, after more speculation that Arsenal could be interested again came to nothing, and with Chelsea and Tottenham also declining to make an offer, there were reports on Wednesday that Newcastle boss Alan Pardew could try again.

And the Newcastle Evening Chronicle say the club have made another bid to land Remy, 27, are willing to pay £15m and will keep trying until the transfer window closes on Monday.

There continues to be speculation about Remy’s future

Meanwhile, Fernando Torres is close to joining AC Milan for £10m, according to The Sun.

Milan have been tipped to sign Torres on loan and on Wednesday confirmed their interest in the striker and his Chelsea team-mate Marco van Ginkel, who has reportedly rejected the move.

But it is claimed that Torres will leave Stamford Bridge after agreeing a £6m ‘loyalty payment’ and that this plus the £50m transfer fee he cost and the wages he has earned means Chelsea will have made a £72m loss on him.

Torres is out of favour at Chelsea and looks set to move on

The Sun also reports that Chelsea’s summer signing Diego Costa has suffered hamstring injury in training and could be out for several weeks.

  • I understand that he is £8.5m to the top four clubs £11m to the next 2 being spurs and Everton then £15m to the likes of Newcastle. Why would you pay more than the big clubs???
