Reports: Matic bid snubbed, United join Blues and Arsenal in Niguez race

Manchester United have joined Chelsea in a battle to sign Spanish teenager Saul Niguez, The Sun say.

Chelsea are supposedly interested in the 19-year-old midfielder and it is claimed that Arsenal have enquired about him.

United coach Phil Nevile was in Spain on Sunday to watch the game between Getafe and Rayo Vallecano, where the player is on loan from Atletico Madrid.

Following Sunday newspaper reports that Chelsea are willing to pay Benfica £21m to take former Blues midfielder Nemanja Matic back to Stamford Bridge, he is strongly tipped to return.

The Sun say Chelsea will offer £20m but Benfica want more, while the Daily Mail say the club are ready to offer £25m.

The Mail suggest the signing of the defensively-minded Matic would mean more of a free role for Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard.

Meanwhile, the Daily Express say a £21m bid for Matic has been rejected and that Benfica are likely to agree to a deal for around £30m.

And Juan Mata is again linked with a possible move to Manchester United. The Daily Star claim United have already spoken to Mata’s agent and could tempt Chelsea with a £27m bid.
