QPR v Swansea player ratings

It was an opening day to forget for Rangers. Here’s how we rated the players in their 5-0 mauling by Swansea at Loftus Road.

Robert Green: 4
Guilty of a shoddy mistake to gift Swansea the lead only eight minutes into his league debut for the R’s. Allowed the ball to slip through his hands, but the error was as much about poor foot movement. Looked shaky for the rest of the first half.

Nedum Onuoha: 5
More comfortable in the centre of defence than at right-back, where he offers little going forward and is less effective defensively.

Anton Ferdinand: 5
Poor throughout and threw in the towel near the end, hopelessly allowing Michu to squirm away from him and set up Scott Sinclar for Swansea’s fifth.

Clint Hill: 5
Caught out for the third goal and generally had all sorts of problems.

Fabio: 6
Did well going forward in the first half and almost created a goal for Junior Hoilett. Unlucky to be punished after giving the ball away in the build-up to the third goal.

Samba Diakite: 5
Energetic as always – too much so at times. Too easy for Swansea to play through and might have prevented the second goal.

Ji-sung Park: 6
Nightmare start for Rangers’ new captain, although his own display wasn’t bad.

Jamie Mackie: 6
Worked hard but missed a great chance to equalise in the first half.

Junior Hoilett: 5
Another who missed a good chance to level. Showed flashes of his ability in the first half but then faded.

Adel Taarabt: 6
Tried to make things happen but it wasn’t his day.

Djibril Cisse: 5
Never comfortable in the lone striker role given that he’s happiest either in front of goal or with open space to run into.
