QPR v Newcastle player ratings

QPR’s final home match of the season ended in yet another loss. Here’s how we rated the players in their 2-1 defeat against Newcastle.

Rob Green: 5
Nowhere near assertive enough, including for Newcastle’s second goal. Jose Bosingwa’s back-pass was poor but Green could still have done better.

Jose Bosingwa: 4
Was woeful and his two errors have been well documented. But if you’re daft enough to sign Jose Bosingwa you get a defensive liability with a questionable attitude. It’s as simple as that.

Nedum Onuoha: 6
Has done well at centre-back of late. Found the going tougher in this game though.

Clint Hill: 6
The usual committed performance from the Rangers captain.

Armand Traore: 7
Has plenty of talent and lacks consistency more than commitment. Got forward well and won a couple of 50-50 balls.

Andros Townsend: 6
Quieter than in recent matches. He faded after a promising start, although he did go close with one effort in the second half.

Jermaine Jenas: 6
Another who started well but then lost his way. Uses the ball intelligently when given space.

Stephane Mbia: 4
Given the unfortunate hacking of his Twitter account recently, we shouldn’t assume it was actually Mbia out there. Whoever it was, they were woeful.

Junior Hoilett: 6
Good turn of pace to win the penalty and at times showed glimpses of his ability.

Bobby Zamora: 5
Once again offered very little up front.

Loic Remy: 7
Didn’t get much service but created space for himself and worried Newcastle with his pace and movement. Tucked away his penalty nicely.

Shaun Derry: 6
Improved Rangers’ midfield when he came on.

Fabio: 6
Offered Rangers more down the right-hand side but was unable to influence the game.

  • Our lot weren't much better, and most ran of the pitch even before your mini invasion rather than come to the away fans , poor tactics poor performance, from a position of safety we now need Ashley to make the right decision for the benefit of the club.
