QPR v Fulham player ratings

QPR climbed off the bottom of the table with their first league win of the season, while Fulham’s recent form is a cause for concern. Here’s how we rated the players in Rangers’ 2-1 victory at Loftus Road.

QPR

Rob Green: 6
Barely troubled until the final minutes, when he looked anxious but did what he needed to.

Nedum Onuoha: 6
Back at Rangers after a bereavement and chosen instead of Jose Bosingwa. Not comfortable at full-back but did a job.

Ryan Nelsen: 7
Once again was solid at the back. Didn’t fall into the trap of following Dimitar Berbatov and leaving space behind him.

Clint Hill: 7
Faultless again. His partnership with Nelsen isn’t the most natural combination but through grit and professionalism – and some help from Stephane Mbia in front of them – it’s working.

Armand Traore: 7
Solid defensively, got forward often and used the ball well.

Jamie Mackie: 7
Worked hard and caused Fulham problems. Missed a good chance to score in the first half though.

Stephane Mbia: 7
Apart from a dodgy second half at Wigan, has been impressive for Rangers since returning from suspension. Produced another committed display.

Alejandro Faurlin: 7
Restored to the side by Harry Redknapp and as ever showed he is a threat when given time on the ball.

Shaun Wright-Phillips: 6
Offered little going forward but did get through some defensive work.

Adel Taarabt: 8
A proper Premier League footballer these days. Was at the centre of most of Rangers’ best work and his second goal was a beauty. Great performance.

Djbril Cisse: 6
Selected after being asked by Redknapp if he was prepared to work. Did so but still lacks sparkle ahead of his probable January exit.

Fulham

Mark Schwarzer: 6
Pulled off a superb save to deny Cisse as QPR pushed for a third goal.

Sascha Reither: 5
Was forced off at half-time due to a knock.

Aaron Hughes: 5
Was one of the culprits who stood off Taarabt and allowed him to curl home from the edge of the box unchallenged.

Brede Hangeland: 5
Had a poor game and was beaten twice by Taarabt for the goals.

John Arne Riise: 6
Was perhaps Fulham’s only bright player, especially in the first half.

Damien Duff: 5
Again lively early on but faded and offered very little by way of an attacking threat from the right-hand side.

Steve Sidwell: 6
Worked hard in midfield but could not get the better of Mbia and Faurlin.

Chris Baird: 5
Came out even worse off than Sidwell against Faurlin and Mbia, who closed them down time and time again and then played through them in possession.

Kieran Richardson: 6
Did okay on his return from injury but is short of match fitness and the decision to leave out Alex Kacaniklic for him may have been the wrong one.

Dimitar Berbatov: 6
Was rarely in the match and provided no moments of brilliance this time.

Hugo Rodellega: 5
Was lively in the first half and bullied the Rangers centre-backs as times but was another player left isolated by poor service.

Stephen Kelly: 6
Looked assured after replacing Riether at the break.

Mladen Petric: 7
Threatened – and scored – after his introduction. Had Rangers worried at times.

Ashkan Dejagah: 6
Worked hard after coming on with 18 minutes left.
