R’s boss Hughes has one game to save his job – reports

Mark Hughes is on the brink of the sack and could lose his job as manager if QPR fail to beat fellow strugglers Reading on Sunday, the Daily Mirror suggest.

It is claimed that Hughes faces a battle to remain in his post, with some members of the Rangers board aware that former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is available.

The Daily Mail also suggest Hughes has lost the support of senior figures at Loftus Road and could be fired if Rangers do not win this weekend.

The Mirror report that Santos have no interest in signing Florent Malouda from Chelsea.

Malouda, out-of-favour at Stamford Bridge and widely tipped to move on in January, has been strongly linked with the Brazilian side.

But the club’s vice-president Odilio Rodrigues has insisted Santos are not lining up a deal.

“There is no interest in Malouda. He is not in our plans,” Rodrigues is quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, the Mail say Chelsea are one of the Premier League clubs watching 19-year-old Genoa full-back Mario Sampirisi.
