Prospect of Hasselbaink’s appointment gets mixed reaction from QPR fans
QPR fans on Twitter seem split over the prospect of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink becoming the club’s next head coach.
Former Chelsea striker Hasselbaink, who has taken Burton Albion to third in their first-ever season in League One, is currently the club’s first choice to succeed Chris Ramsey.
But some Rangers supporters remain unconvinced by Hasselbaink and would prefer interim boss Neil Warnock to remain in charge.

However, others rejected the notion that Hasselbaink is too inexperienced and pointed to his success with Burton, who he led to promotion last season.
So what if JFH has no champ exp? If he’s good enough he’ll step up to the task. He’s young, progressive and done well in short career…

Hasselbaink, Pearson, Ainsworth, Jackett, Warnock to name but few of the alleged contenders/fan favourites.
They are all good managers in their own right and no doubt each one can bring something good to QPR.
But, the brutal truth is that Mark Hughes and Harry Redknapp were both better managers than all of those names, by any yardstick you could wish to use to measure by, and they both failed at Loftus Road.
They failed not because they suddenly became bad managers but because they were set up to fail by the way the club was and continues to be appallingly run.
Anyone can pick a ‘name’ and offer him enough money to come and manage their club.
But unless QPR has a definite purpose about what direction it now is going in, what identity it will have, what style of football they will play and how they’re going to reach those goals then more of the same is going to happen.
Teams like Swansea and Southampton have a philosophy and an identity and they pick their managers based on who best fits in with those concepts, not who has the most impressive win/loss record.
If Hasselbaink is the guy they want then let it be because his skill-set most matches what direction the club wants to go in and because they feel he’ll be the best one to flourish in the kind of environment they’re going to put him in. Not because he’s the latest brand new shiny toy that hasn’t been sullied by the inevitable mark of managerial failure yet.
Believe me, everyone calling for Pearson: Unless this club completely changes its philosophy and develops its own identity Pearson would surely fail just as Warnock, Hughes, Sousa, De Canio and Redknapp before him all did.

I like JFH and he has one thing in common with QPR – they both have 3 letter acronyms!!! Good enough – he is appointed 🙂
On a serious note, I think Nigel Pearson would be the manager we need. Warnock will probably be ok. JFH is hungry and ambitious and a winner all his life and I think he will do well but dont think he will hit the ground running like Pearson.

Personally think JFH should be given a chance… I’m sure everyone at Birmingham was saying the same thing when Garry Rowett was appointed. After all JFH was in the job six months and got a promotion and now Burton are the top end of league one, you don’t do that easily, give him a chance with a bigger club and a bigger budget. After all we are looking for stability and consistency not a short term thing

QPR as an ambitious club should NOT have an untried manager to take us into the Premiership, but a tried & tested manager. If Nigel Pearson is NOT available, then Warnock should be given the job till the end of the season. Only then should a suitable candidate be appointed
