There is inevitably renewed speculation about Jose Mourinho’s position at Chelsea after their poor season continued with a defeat at West Ham on Saturday.
The Sun reports that Mourinho’s job is currently safe because he still has the backing of club owner Roman Abramovich.
But most of today’s newspapers suggest Mourinho faces the sack if his team lose against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
The Daily Telegraph says former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola could be interested in taking over.
Guardiola’s contract at Bayern Munich expires at the end of the season, so there is speculation about who might be appointed on a short-term basis if Mourinho is axed.
Ex-Chelsea managers Carlo Ancelotti and Guus Hiddink have therefore been touted as possible options given that they are currently available.
The Daily Mail says Mourinho’s position is under review by the Chelsea board and that Ancelotti is interested in a return.
The Daily Star claims a growing number of players do not fully back Mourinho, that key figures in the boardroom are also frustrated, and that sacking him could cost the club £37.5m as he only signed a new contract in the summer.
Meanwhile, there also continues to be speculation over the future of John Terry.
The Daily Mirror says Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola, now manager at Qatari club Al Arabi, wants to sign him at the end of the season, when the Blues captain’s contract is due to expire.
Intermediaries have sounded out Terry and his representatives about a lucrative move to the Middle East, the Mirror claims.
Turkish club Fenerbahce and several Chinese clubs are also said to be interested in him.

Should we sack the manager, bring someone who will also be sacked?because all of them have failed elsewhere too,lets give our manager support he's facing difficult times and,remember that Chelsea'rivals are running the FA. I don't see any reason why sacking JM!
