Mourinho could defy Abramovich and change style of play – report

Jose Mourinho could defy Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and change the team’s style of play, The Independent suggests.

It is claimed that manager Mourinho is on a collision course with Abramovich because he is minded to adopt a more defensive approach in response to the Blues’ recent defeats.

Abramovich is widely reported to want Chelsea to play with an attacking style, and comments made by Mourinho after Tuesday’s Capital One Cup exit at Sunderland have been taken as a sign that the pair disagree.

Meanwhile, Fulham are close to sealing a deal to bring former Whites star Clint Dempsey back to the club on a two-month loan from Seattle Sounders, according to the Daily Mail.

Dempsey, 30, is thought to prefer a return to Craven Cottage to a move to West Ham, who are said to be interested in the American.

And the Daily Express say Partick Thistle want to sign Brentford striker Farid El Alagui on loan.
