Leeds v Fulham player ratings

Fulham picked up a point at Leeds, with Tom Cairney’s opener cancelled out by Lewis Cook’s spectacular strike. Here’s how we rated the players in the 1-1 draw at Elland Road.

Andy Lonergan: 7
Was untroubled until the brilliant Leeds goal. Immediately afterwards, he made important saves from Souleymane Doukara and Mirco Antenucci, and also showed good distribution.

Michael Madl: 7
Although he did not win too many aerial battles, he did some very good work tidying up as Leeds sent crosses into the box. Has looked a very good acquisition.

Dan Burn: 8
Defended well, particularly late on as Leeds pressed. A mature display by the 23-year-old against dangerous forwards.

Fernando Amorebieta: 6
His sending-off in injury time was not only needless – a second yellow for handball – but also summed up his rather petulant evening. Needed more composure in his defending too, particularly against Mirco Antenucci.

Ryan Fredericks: 7
Lively in the right wing-back role, particularly in the first half when his crosses were keeping the Leeds defence on their toes. His last action before being replaced by Jazz Richards late on was a booking for a foul on Charlie Taylor.

Tom Cairney: 7
Another terrific finish, his fourth goal in as many games, gave Fulham a deserved lead. The former Blackburn man worked hard but couldn’t quite find the final pass to create chances for the front two.

Chris Baird: 7
His first start in a Fulham shirt since returning to the club. He was tidy and efficient at times, especially in the first half, and will only get better as he adjusts to Slavisa Jokanovic’s system.

Jamie O’Hara: 6
A good early tackle on Antenucci set the tone for a busy first half, but he came off after 53 minutes for Ryan Tunnicliffe.

Luke Garbutt: 7
Adventurous from left wing-back and had a couple of shots on target in the first half. Picked up a knock which saw him come off eight minutes after the break.

Moussa Dembele: 5
Frustrated by a strong Leeds backline, particularly Sol Bamba, who was detailed to keep track of him. It was the Ivorian who denied Dembele when he got clear of Liam Cooper in the second half.

Ross McCormack: 7
Playing against his former club, his every touch was booed by the home fans, who chanted about him for a lot of the game. Would have silenced them early on had Bamba not headed his effort on to the crossbar and was also involved in some of Fulham’s best attacks.

Ryan Tunnicliffe: 6
Replaced O’Hara and was unfortunate to be crowded out as he backheeled for goal, allowing Leeds keeper Marco Silvestri to gather.

Alex Kacaniklic: 6
Came on for Garbutt and tested Silvestri with a shot the keeper pushed away.
