QPR linked with West Ham misfit

West Ham striker Modibo Maiga could be on his way to QPR, according to Goal.com.

Maiga has failed to impressed since moving to Upton Park from Sochaux for £4.7m in 2012.

The Hammers, who have re-signed Carlton Cole – a player QPR were interested in – on an 18-month contract, are looking to get Maiga off their wage bill.

And it is claimed that they are willing to let him join Rangers on loan until the end of the season with a view to a £1m permanent move.

A source is quoted as saying: “It simply hasn’t worked out for Modibo and it would be wise for us all to kick on in new directions.

“There is definite interest from QPR and, as is the case with all loan deals, we will be looking to put him out until the end of the season, with QPR being offered the chance to make the move permanent in the summer.”

Meanwhile, Talksport note that the Italian press believe QPR’s Armand Traore will decide today whether he wants to join Serie A strugglers Livorno.
