Chelsea one of three clubs chasing defender, claims agent
Three clubs are in the running to sign St Etienne defender Kurt Zouma, his agent David Venditelli has claimed.
Chelsea have been linked with the 19-year-old centre-back, who is keen to move to Stamford Bridge and has been touted as a possible long-term replacement for John Terry.
Venditelli has suggested that Monaco and Inter Milan are also interested.
“Serie A is an interesting destination, as are Inter, for the tactical growth of the lad,” French media quoted Venditelli as saying.
“Of course he wouldn’t mind moving to the Premier League, hopefully to Chelsea, where he could work with Jose Mourinho, or to Monaco in Ligue 1.
“There were other sides interested, such as Newcastle, but now it’s a three-horse race.”
Meanwhile, Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs expects the German club to finalise a deal to sign Chelsea’s Kevin de Bruyne.
“We are no longer so far apart with Chelsea that we can’t bridge the differences,” he told the Wolfsburger Nachrichten newspaper.
Juan Mata is again being linked with a move to Bayern Munich, this time by the Express.
And the Star note that odds have been slashed on former Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic returning to the club from Benfica following reports they are willing to pay £21m for him.
