More Ba speculation, while Chelsea youngster ponders future

Chelsea youngster Tomas Kalas has said he would be happy to join a League club on loan.

The Czech defender, 20, has had two loan spells at Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem and has indicated that he would like to stay in England if he makes another temporary move.

Sky quote Kalas as saying: “I would go anywhere where it would give me what I want to keep improving.

“The main thing is to be playing regularly. I’m not saying to be an automatic starter, I will be happy to fight for my position but I want a more realistic chance to play than I have here.

“The English leagues are known for being physical and fast, so maybe it would be good to stay here. The best scenario would be if I could stay in my current home, but it’s not a condition.

“In the Championship it’s good that there are even more fixtures, but we will meet with the management and see what’s next.”

Meanwhile, Newcastle have again been linked with a bid to re-sign former Magpies striker Demba Ba from Chelsea, this time by the Express.

And Thibaut Courtois’ father has insisted that his son was never close to joining Barcelona.

The Chelsea goalkeeper, currently on loan at Atletico Madrid, was linked with a move to the Catalan giants, who are now reported to be targeting Borussia Monchengladbach’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

‘Thibaut is not disappointed that Barcelona have chosen another goalkeeper,’ Thierry Courtois told Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad.

‘It was never a real option. Thibaut still has a contract until the end of the season at Atletico.”
