Fans on Twitter react to Chelsea’s pursuit of Everton defender

Everton supporters on Twitter have been reacting angrily to Jose Mourinho and Gary Cahill publicly discussing Chelsea’s bid for defender John Stones.

Blues defender Cahill told reporters on the trip to America that Stones would find it hard to turn down a move to Stamford Bridge, and manager Mourinho implied Everton were ‘a smaller club’ while talking about the proposed deal.

Toffees fans have been quick to criticise both Cahill and Mourinho for what they see is attempts to unsettle Stones.

Meanwhile, some Chelsea fans have been questioning why the club is so keen to land Stones when youngsters like Andreas Christensen and Tomas Kalas have been loaned out.

  • why give enemy fans leverage to say rubbish to chelsea? we have young promising defenders , whom
if giving chance will b greater than stone.pls save us the money

  • Garry is admitting his willingness to work with Stones when they took lukaku on loan later signed him we had the same comment from their player wer they tapping or tripping?class is permanent performance is temporary...we like our haters they make us great...arsenal started commenting about Chech even before they signed him did we complain but we saw the press bashing on our coach calling him hypocritical.i believe teams fear our resolve to achieve and our ambition to offer the best

  • I think Chelsea has good and bright talents like kalas why sending them one loan, make use of what u have

  • I stead of worring about john stones why not look at the right back possition
No back up for ivanovage only about left back.we need a very good centre half to cover for john terry.also we need another ball passer can not rely on fabrigas all the time.
Moses and mikel not good enough for chelsea. sorry no titles on cups this year
as defence will be not good enough.

  • I think it's right for the try and to talk to stones to join Chelsea because the future is in stones hands
