Inter ready to offer Conte huge wages and full control, Sun claim

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte continues to be linked with Inter Milan, this time by The Sun.

The newspaper say Inter are ready to offer the Italian a £13m-a-year deal to return to Serie A this summer, which is reportedly double his wages at Chelsea.

It comes after former Juventus boss Conte denied reports he wants more control over transfers at Chelsea and again insisted he plans to stay at the club long term.

Conte has insisted he is happy to stay at Chelsea

Despite it being standard practice in Italy for coaches not to govern transfer deals, it has been claimed that Conte wants a greater say over signings and that Inter’s owners propose to give full control over transfers.

Conte was asked at a press conference on Friday about reports he wants a greater say over transfers at Chelsea before agreeing to sign a new contract.

He said: “It is not true. I don’t understand it. Honestly, I have a good relationship.

“When I need something I speak with the club and we find always to try to find the right solution – but always together.

“If we take always the right solution it is very difficult to tell this, but we always take the decision together.

“I am very happy to be Chelsea’s coach and want to continue this way for many years.”
