Fulham v Norwich player ratings

Summer signing Mladen Petric stole the show for Fulham in their opening-day drubbing of Norwich, but there were several other stand-out performers for the Whites. Here’s how we rated Martin Jol’s men.

Mark Schwarzer: 7
Was assured as ever in the Fulham goal. Made a couple of fine saves and will be essential this season.

Sascha Reither: 6
New signing from Cologne looks a competent right-back. Agile but strong and kept Norwich’s wide-men quiet.

Brede Hangeland: 7
The captain was unbeatable.

Aaron Hughes: 7
Another essential player for Fulham this season and has begun with a fine display alongside Hangeland.

John Arne Riise: 8
Veteran left-back set up the first goal with a defence-splitting diagonal ball any playmaker would have been proud of.

Damien Duff: 7
Slotted home the opener with typical composure. Was dangerous from the right-hand side.

Mahamadou Diarra: 8
Added a touch of class in midfield. Fulham will not miss Dickson Etuhu if this man stays fit.

Moussa Dembele: 6
A relatively quiet game from the man linked with a move away from Craven Cottage. Instrumental in the fourth goal, however.

Alex Kacaniklic: 8
The 21-year-old impressed at the back end of last season after returning from loan spell at Watford and was superb against City, capping his display with a goal.

Bryan Ruiz: 7
Did excellently filling the Clint Dempsey role behind the striker and will be very dangerous there.

Mladen Petric: 8
His brace showed the rigours of the Premier League are no tall order for the Croatian international. He also held the ball up superbly.

Hugo Rodallega: 6
Looked dangerous after coming on as a substitute but didn’t have enough time to make an impact.
