Fulham v Liverpool player ratings

The end of the season cannot come soon enough for Fulham, whose 3-1 loss against Liverpool was their fifth consecutive defeat. Here’s how we rated the Whites players on another dismal afternoon for them at Craven Cottage.

Mark Schwarzer: 7
Emerged with a good deal of credit despite his team being well beaten. Schwarzer produced a couple of decent saves to keep the score down.

Sascha Riether: 8
Had an excellent game at full-back. He was solid defensively and delivered a number of good crosses, including for Dimitar Berbatov’s goal.

Brede Hangeland: 6
Did well for much of the match but seemed to switch off in the closing stages as Liverpool made the game safe.

Aaron Hughes: 6
Beaten by Daniel Sturridge for one of Liverpool’s goals but didn’t have a bad game. Individually, Fulham were okay at the back. Collectively, however, they struggled.

Damien Duff: 6
Offered very little threat going forward but did offer good defensive cover to stop Fulham being completely swamped.

Eyong Enoh: 6
A hit-and-miss display from the on-loan midfielder, who clearly has talent but can be ragged at times. His passing was sloppy on occasions.

Giorgos Karagounis: 5
Has proved to be a decent signing but he struggled in this game. Neat and tidy on the ball but Liverpool’s midfield found it too easy to play around the veteran.

Alex Kacaniklic: 7
Playing against his former club, the young Swede did very well before going off in the second half. His skill and directness caused Liverpool problems and he was unlucky not to score.

Bryan Ruiz: 8
Outstanding in spells, the Costa Rican’s link-up play worried Liverpool – especially during a spell of Fulham pressure in the second half.

Dimitar Berbatov: 7
Drifted in and out of the game but added to his goal tally and linked up well with Ruiz.

Urby Emanuelson: 5
Found the going tough after replacing the injured Keiran Richardson at full-back early on. Never looked comfortable.

Mladen Petric: 6
Wasn’t able to influence the game after coming on.
