Fulham and Stoke reportedly battling to sign Spurs man

Fulham and Stoke City are looking to sign Lewis Holtby on loan from Tottenham, according to The Telegraph.

German clubs Schalke and Borussia Dortmund are also reported to be interested in the midfielder, who has been tipped to leave White Hart Lane on loan before Friday’s transfer deadline.

Fulham’s former Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov is being linked with a return to the north London club as part of a possible deal involving Holtby.

Meanwhile, Sky say Watford are now in advanced talks to sign Samba Diakite on loan from QPR.

Rangers boss Harry Redknapp recently told West London Sport the Hornets would have to pay a significant chunk of the midfielder’s wages if they are to take him to Vicarage Road.
