Fulham can beat Millwall, while Bees face a test against the Cherries

Fulham struggled to come to terms with Ipswich last weekend and got what they deserved, although it could have been different if Moussa Dembele had taken his first-half opportunity with the score at 0-0.

The striker nevertheless has potential and let’s hope the club can keep hold of all their exciting young players, including Patrick Roberts, who must be in line for a start against Millwall after his late cameo at Portman Road.

The Whites are 21/20 at BetVictor to begin their home campaign with three points and I would be surprised if they didn’t beat a Lions side despite the visitors’ 2-0 win over Leeds on the opening weekend.

Dembele is 7/1 to score first and 23/10 to score at any time at BetVictor and the latter gets the vote with Ross McCormack looking short of match fitness against the Tractor Boys.

Fulham are out to 12/1 for the Championship title but the first week suggested there is no outstanding side in the division and the 12s is just too big with league newcomers Wolves the visitors to Craven Cottage on Wednesday.

Tommy Smith’s late equaliser earned Brentford a point against Charlton last weekend before their bizarre Capital One Cup tie with Dagenham, which they won on penalties.

The Bees travel to Bournemouth to take on a Cherries side who thrashed Huddersfield 4-0 at the John Smith’s Stadium last weekend.

The hosts are 20/23 to pick up another three points, with Brentford 17/5 and the draw 13/5. I expect to see goals and the 7/10 for both teams to score is the recommendation.

Bournemouth are into 16/1 for the Championship title from 25s whilst the Bees are out to 12s from 10s for another promotion at the end of the season. We bet 16/1 for a 2-2 draw and that too looks a shade too big.

The Premier League starts this weekend and BetVictor have an opening-day offer for new customers (maximum £10) of 5/1 for Manchester United (home to Swansea) Arsenal (home to Palace) and Liverpool (home to Southampton) to all win their games.

The correct price should be 5/4 so you can see it is a cracking offer.
