Fulham boss plans surprise move for QPR forward – report

Fulham boss Martin Jol is ready to make a surprise move for Jamie Mackie, the Daily Mirror say.

It is suggested that Mackie may be squeezed out of the QPR side if Harry Redknapp makes new signings and that the forward might be tempted to move for first-team football and a better contract.

Fulham and Rangers are watching Clermont’s France Under-21 midfielder Yacouba Sylla, according to the Daily Mail, who also say R’s boss Redknapp will have £10m to spend in January.

The Daily Telegraph again suggest Rangers want Newcastle striker Demba Ba as well as Nicolas Anelka.

And the Northern Echo report that Redknapp will try to scupper Sunderland’s bid to sign on-loan full-back Danny Rose by tabling his own offer for the Tottenham player.

Chelsea are interested in Lyon star Bafetimbi Gomis, French media have reported.

The Blues are said to be fighting it out with Liverpool to sign the striker January.

And Gomis told Canal+: “I’m happy, but if there is interest and the three parties are okay and I can progress, then yes the interest is flattering.

“These are big names [Chelsea and Liverpool] but I do not pollute my mind with the idea of a departure.”

The Mail say Claudio Ranieri – Chelsea’s manager when they bought Frank Lampard – is keen to sign the midfielder for Monaco.
