Whites and Villa said to be keen as Lescott move apparently stalls

West Ham are having second thoughts about signing Joleon Lescott from Manchester City, according to the Daily Mirror.

Fulham are reportedly keen on the England defender, as are Aston Villa, but it is claimed that City could keep him until the summer unless they find a replacement before next week’s transfer deadline.

West Ham are said to have doubts about a loan deal because they are unsure about matching Lescott’s City wages.

It is also claimed that Turkish club Besiktas have made Lescott, 31, a lucrative offer, but he wants to stay in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Italian press reports suggest Fulham are interested in signing AC Milan defender Cristian Zaccardo.

The Whites have been linked with Zaccardo, 32, after apparently missing out on Nicolas Burdisso, who recently joined Genoa from Roma.
