Wolves v Brentford player ratings

Soccer - Sky Bet Championship - Wolverhampton Wanderers v Brentford - Molineux
Brentford recorded back-to-back wins for the first time this season as they beat Wolves 2-0. Here’s how we rated the Bees players in their win at Molineux.

David Button: 7
Only really troubled in the second half but did everything that was asked of him in a composed display.

Nico Yennaris: 8
An excellent performance, particularly in the first half when he got forward well to support the attack. Settling in well in only his fourth Championship appearance.

Harlee Dean: 7
Made a couple of very important blocks and coped well with Wolves’ attempts to get the ball in behind him.

James Tarkowski: 8
Aside from a late tackle which earned him a second-half booking, it was a superb display from the centre-back, who timed tackles and interceptions well. He also used the ball very well.

Jake Bidwell: 6
Looked a little uncertain after getting an early yellow card for a foul on Benik Afobe. He may even have been lucky to stay on after another talking to.

Toumani Diagouraga: 8
Another exemplary midfield display from the Frenchman, who did a superb job of protecting the back four and made some timely interceptions. When he plays well, Brentford tend to play well.

Alan McCormack: 7
Not only provided a platform for the more creative players, but also got forward at times. Looked to be struggling with an injury after the break but battled on regardless until the 78th minute when he was replaced by Konstantin Kerschbaumer.

Alan Judge: 8
The brightest spark early on, with a deflected free-kick, several good crosses and an assist for the opening goal. He also had two efforts saved in the second half.

Ryan Woods: 8
Seemed to thrive on being played further forward and was at the heart of a lot of Brentford’s attacking work. He linked up well with those around him before being replaced for a 20-minute cameo from Sergi Canos.

John Swift: 8
A man-of-the-match performance from the Chelsea loanee, who zipped the ball around nicely, kept Marco Djuricin well fed and also had a couple of shots of his own in the second half before helping to set up the second goal.

Marco Djuricin: 7
A constant threat on the shoulder of the last man, particularly in the first half, and grabbed the deserved first goal. As his influence waned, he was replaced by Philipp Hofmann.

Sergi Canos: 6
Didn’t make much of an impact after replacing Woods.

Philipp Hofmann: 7
Replaced Djuricin and grabbed the crucial second goal, just seconds after he had squandered a previous chance. Lee Carsley predicted it would give him a confidence boost.
