Meanwhile, there continues to be speculation over the future of John Terry.

The Daily Mirror say Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola, now manager at Qatari club Al Arabi, wants to sign him at the end of the season, when the Blues captain’s contract is due to expire.

Intermediaries have sounded out Terry and his representatives about a lucrative move to the Middle East, the Mirror claims.

Turkish club Fenerbahce and several Chinese clubs are also said to be interested in him.
