Chelsea linked with Song and Cech is tipped to complete Arsenal move

A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving Chelsea, QPR and Fulham…

Chelsea are interested in signing Alex Song from Barcelona, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Song was on loan at West Ham last season and they are pursuing a deal to sign the midfielder, 27, on a permanent deal.

The Telegraph reports that the former Arsenal man’s home-grown status means Chelsea and Manchester City are also interested.

The newspaper also reports that Chelsea want £15m for Loic Remy, who has been linked with a move from Stamford Bridge, and that Blues boss Jose Mourinho has been alerted to the possibility of signing Belgium international midfielder Axel Witsel from Zenit St Petersburg.

The Daily Express suggest Witsel, who was first linked with Chelsea by the Russian media, could move to the Bridge for £24m.

A number of today’s newspapers declare that Petr Cech, who has long been linked with Arsenal, is set to complete a transfer to the Gunners.

The Express say Cech, a Chelsea player for a decade, has agreed a £10m move to north London.

Meanwhile, QPR have still not received any offers for Charlie Austin but there continues to be speculation over his future, with reports still suggesting he is a target for Newcastle.

The Newcastle Chronicle today say the Magpies will step up their apparent attempts to land the Rangers striker.

QPR defender Steven Caulker is reportedly wanted by Premier League newcomers Bournemouth.

The Daily Mirror say Caulker has been targeted by Cherries boss Eddie Howe, who is looking to sign a centre-back.

England international Caulker, 23, signed a four-year contract when he joined Rangers from Cardiff City a year ago.

The Daily Mail reports that Lazio are furious with QPR for what they believe has been an attempt to unsettle Ravel Morrison.

The former West Ham player, who had a spell on loan at Loftus Road the season before last, is unhappy in Italy and his representatives recently sounded Rangers out about the possibility of signing him.

The Mail say Lazio are determined to hold Morrison to the pre-contract agreement he signed with them in January.
