Transfer gossip: Chelsea interested in Benteke, Times say

Chelsea see Liverpool striker Christian Benteke as a potential alternative signing should they fail to bring Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge, according to The Times.[phone][/phone]

The newspaper reports that former Chelsea forward Lukaku, sold to Everton in 2014, is incoming Blues boss Antonio Conte’s first-choice target this summer.

But it is claimed that Benteke has been earmarked as a possible back-up option should Lukaku go elsewhere.

Meanwhile, reports in France and Marquinhos’ native Brazil continue to link him with a possible move to Chelsea.

Manchester City and Manchester United are also said to be interested in the 22-year-old defender. 

And the Daily Express have again linked Fulham’s Ben Pringle with a move to Glasgow Rangers.
