Transfer gossip: Speculation over Pato and Remy, Blues watch Dutch defender

A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving Chelsea…

Chelsea are close to completing the signing of Alexandre Pato on loan for the rest of the season, the Daily Mail reports, while Sky Sports News HQ are suggesting that Guus Hiddink has reservations about the proposed move.

The 26-year-old Brazilian is desperate to secure a move to England and last year he was offered to several clubs, including QPR.

Pato, formerly of AC Milan, has been widely tipped to arrive from Corinthians during this month’s transfer window.

The Mail say he will be signed with a view to a possible permanent deal in the summer.

But Sky say Hiddink has doubts about Pato, who was lined up as a potential signing before the Dutchman was installed as the Blues’ interim boss.

Southampton and Newcastle are among a number of clubs showing an interest in Chelsea youngster Todd Kane, according to reports in the Netherlands.

Kane, who has not made a first-team appearance for the Blues, is currently on a season-long loan with Dutch outfit NEC.

‘Grew up at Chelsea’

Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven are also considering him as a potential summer signing, it is claimed.

But the 22-year-old is keen to establish himself at Stamford Bridge next season.

“Chelsea say I will be preparing for the new season in the first team. I grew up at Chelsea and would like to break through,” Kane is quoted as saying.

Kane has also had loan spells at Blackburn, Nottingham Forest, Preston and Bristol City

Meanwhile, Antoine Griezmann has indicated that he wants to stay at Atletico Madrid.

The Daily Express, which has consistently linked the midfielder with a move to the Bridge, claim this is a blow for Chelsea.

It comes after Griezmann told French publication Telefoot: “I am feeling very well at Atletico.

“This is a big club and I want to achieve great things here. I am ambitious and my goal is to win trophies here.”

Remy return?

Loic Remy is keen to leave Chelsea on loan but Leicester, who have been linked with him, are not interested in the striker, according to Sky.

The Mail say Remy is keen to rejoin Newcastle, where he previously spent a season on loan.

And Sparta Rotterdam teenager Rick van Drongelen has been watched by a Chelsea scout, Piet de Visser, who told Dutch media: ”I have filed a report about Van Drongelen to Chelsea.

“I think he’s a serious guy who always trains extra hard and shows good mentality. First, he must focus on his spot at Sparta and the Holland-Under 19s. There he is doing a good job.”

Van Drongelen, 17, can play at left-back or as a central defender.
