Title chasers fear Man City star will escape ban, report claims

Manchester City’s title rivals fear the FA will let Yaya Toure escape a ban for his stamp on Norwich’s Ricky van Wolfswinkel, according to The Sun.

Chelsea beat Manuel Pellegrini’s side last week and went above them to move top of the Premier League at the weekend.

But it is suggested that the title-chasing sides are worried that City’s Toure will not be punished for an incident that was missed by referee Jonathan Moss.

A source from a club is quoted as saying: “What Toure did was worse than Andy Carroll’s challenge on Chico Flores but the FA were quite happy to uphold Carroll’s three-match ban.

“But because this could have a huge impact at the top of the table, the suspicion is the FA won’t have the nerve to do anything.”

Meanwhile, the Mirror say Chelsea want to loan Eden Hazard’s brother Thorgan to a Premier League club next season as he has impressed while on loan at Belgian outfit Zulte Waregem.

The Mirror also say Fulham plan to make a move for Schalke’s Austria left-back Christian Fuchs this summer.
