Italian media reports claim QPR want Isla on a permanent deal

A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving QPR and Chelsea…

Italian media reports claim QPR are battling with Newcastle to sign Mauricio Isla from Juventus.

Isla was out of favour towards the end of his season-long loan at Rangers last term and the club did not pursue a permanent deal.

However, it is claimed that they want to sign him and that Isla is a target for several other clubs, including the Magpies.

Isla was loaned to Rangers along with fellow Chilean Eduardo Vargas, whose representatives tried to stir up interest from Arsenal prior to his move to Loftus Road from Napoli.

Vargas is again being linked with the Gunners, who are supposedly interested in signing him.

QPR have been linked with Isla – but did not attempt to keep him

West Brom’s apparent interest in Charlie Austin has led to renewed speculation about his future.

QPR want £15m for the striker and have had no approaches or offers despite a host of reports suggesting they have received both.

Newcastle were tipped to sign Austin but with no move having materialised, there is speculation that he could end up elsewhere.

The Daily Telegraph reports that West Brom boss Tony Pulis believes an offer of £10m plus add-ons could be enough to land the 25-year-old.

The Daily Mail say Albion are discussing £22m double deal involving Austin and Matty Phillips, while the Daily Star suggests Pulis is looking to spend a total of £25m on the QPR duo plus Liverpool’s Rickie Lambert.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are being being courted by the agent of Augsburg left-back Baba Rahman, reports in Germany suggest.

Bild say the Ghanaian’s representative, Sascha Empacher, held meetings in England last week over Rahman’s future. The 19-year-old is said to be valued at a little over £14m.

Chelsea have apparently been quoted £17.7m for another Ghana international, Kwadwo Asamoah. The Juventus midfielder has also been linked with Arsenal.

The Daily Mirror suggests Asmir Begovic has no qualms about being second choice at Chelsea.

The Stoke goalkeeper has been tipped to move to Stamford Bridge to replace Petr Cech, and the Blues have reportedly had a £6m bid for the Bosnian rejected.

Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan will reportedly make a decision on his future by the end of the week, with the Daily Express claiming Chelsea and Manchester United are in the frame to sign him.

However, reports in Spain suggest Barcelona are the favourites to land the Turkey international.

The Express also say Barcelona will beat the Blues to the signing of Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.
