Transfer gossip: Strikers linked with Blues amid speculation over Costa’s future

A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving the area’s clubs….

Chelsea are being linked with a number of strikers – including Harry Kane – amid reports that Diego Costa could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge following a row with boss Jose Mourinho.

The Guardian believe ex-Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor, who played under Mourinho at Real Madrid, is an option as he is currently a free agent, while a loan move for Fenerbahce’s former Manchester United forward Robin van Persie is apparently also being considered.

The same report suggests West Bromwich Albion’s Saido Berahino and Leicester’s Jamie Vardy are being monitored by Blues technical director Michael Emenalo.

But moves for Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann and Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain, who have been strongly linked with Chelsea in recent months, are now said to be only a remote possibility.

The Daily Telegraph say Tottenham star Kane is also on Chelsea’s wanted list but adds that he too is unlikely to be available in January.

Meanwhile, French media reports continue to insist that Fulham’s Moussa Dembele is wanted by several European clubs.

The striker, whose representatives are negotiating a new contract for him at Craven Cottage, has been linked with the likes of Manchester United, Everton and Bayern Munich.
