More speculation over Austin as Palace are tipped to make bid

A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving QPR and Chelsea…

Crystal Palace are prepared to exceed Leicester’s bid for Charlie Austin, the Daily Mirror say.

Several clubs, including Palace and Newcastle, have been linked with the QPR striker this summer.

Speculation over Austin’s future has continued since West London Sport revealed last week that Rangers had rejected an offer from Leicester.

This has included reports that Austin would rather stay in London and join Chelsea or West Ham than move to Newcastle.

Now the Mirror believe Palace are ready to move for Austin but that he is holding out for a move to Newcastle.

The Sun also reports that Palace are ready to make a big-money offer for the 25-year-old.

Meanwhile, Besiktas want to sign Loic Remy from Chelsea on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent move, according to the Mirror.

Palace and Swansea are also said to be interested in the former QPR forward.

And the Express continue to claim that Toby Alderweireld is wanted by Chelsea.

Southampton, who had the Belgium defender on loan last season, are trying to sign him from Atletico Madrid but face competition from Tottenham.
