Blues said to have warned Solanke, Drinkwater linked, Matic sale reportedly close

A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving Chelsea…

Chelsea have told Dominic Solanke he will be consigned to their development squad next season if he does not lower his wage demands, according to The Times.

It follows recent reports that Solanke, who is currently on loan at Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem, wants £50,000 a week and assurances he will get first-team football before signing a new deal with the Blues.

Chelsea are unwilling to meet his apparent demands and will not sanction another loan move for the 18-year-old striker, The Times say.

Meanwhile, Juventus are close to agreeing a £20m deal to sign Nemanja Matic from Chelsea this summer, according to the Daily Express.

It is claimed that Juve are confident of completing the signing of the 27-year-old midfielder, who has struggled for form this season.

Talks between the two clubs have been going on for more than a week, the Express say.

The Express also pick up on a report in the Italian media claiming Chelsea are looking to sign Leicester midfielder Danny Drinkwater.

Chelsea have recently been linked with a move for Drinkwater’s Foxes team-mate N’Golo Kante.

‘Prepared to stay’

The Daily Mail say Napolii forward Gonzalo Higuain is ready to move to Chelsea in a £42m deal this summer but is not prepared to be second choice behind Diego Costa.

The Mail, which has previously suggested that Eden Hazard will leave Chelsea this summer, now say he has performed a U-turn and told the club he wants to remain at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea insiders are reported to have remarked that Hazard “is 100% prepared to stay” and wants to work under incoming boss Antonio Conte next season.
