Transfer gossip: Chelsea linked with four keepers

A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving the area’s clubs…

Chelsea are making contingency plans in case Asmir Begovic becomes unavailable while Thibaut Courtois is sidelined, the Daily Mail reports.

Courtois’ knee injury means summer signing Begovic is the Blues’ only senior goalkeeper.

Should the Bosnian be injured or suspended while the transfer window is closed, one option for Chelsea would be to seek Premier League approval to make an emergency loan signing.

The Mail say Chelsea have a list of potential signings and it includes Manchester United’s Victor Valdes, Inter Milan’s Juan Pablo Carrizo, Miguel Angel Moya of Atletico Madrid and Porto’s veteran keeper Helton.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are to battle with Tottenham and Arsenal for the signing of Red Star Belgrade’s teenage striker Luka Jovic, the Daily Express claim.

It follows a recent report in the Portuguese media that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho had sent scouts to watch the 17-year-old in action.

And Sheffield United, who were unable to agree a deal to sign Dan Burn during the final hours of the transfer window, are still hoping to take the Fulham defender on loan, according to the Sheffield Star.
