Gossip: Villa tipped to move for Austin, Blues linked with Cesena midfielder

A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving QPR and Chelsea…

QPR striker Charlie Austin has again been linked with Aston Villa, this time by the Daily Telegraph.

The 26-year-old is in the final year of his contract so could leave for free next summer, leading to speculation that Rangers will look to sell for £8m when the transfer window reopens.

The Telegraph suggests Villa have watched Austin this season and want to bring him in in January.

Meanwhile, Cesena midfielder Stefano Sensi is the latest player to be linked with a possible move to Chelsea.

TalkSport, picking up on reports in Italy, suggests Juventus, Inter Milan and Napoli are also competing for the 20-year-old, who has been impressive in Serie B this season.

The Daily Express revives claims that Chelsea are interested in Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann.

It believes the Blues are in the market for a striker, and says owner Roman Abramovich will pay up to £40m for the Frenchman.

The Evening Standard reels off a list of names that might be on boss Jose Mourinho’s shortlist, including Everton’s John Stones.

It also suggests Paris St-Germain defender Marquinhos, Shakhtar Donetsk forward Alex Teixeira, Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, Porto midfielder Ruben Neves and Red Star Belgrade starlet Marko Grujic are all potential targets.

Chelsea defender Papy Djilobdoji is reportedly set to be sold in January after playing just one minute for the club since joining on transfer deadline day.

The Senegal international, whose only appearance after signing from Nantes came as an injury-time substitute in the League Cup win over Walsall, is a target for Besiktas, the Daily Star suggests.

And there is further speculation over the futures of Oscar and Radamel Falcao.

The Express quotes reports in Italy which say Juventus have sent sporting director Fabio Paratici to London for talks with Chelsea about signing Oscar.

The Daily Mirror claims the Blues are happy to end Falcao’s loan early and that Valencia want to sign him.
