Transfer gossip: Abramovich does not want to sell Matic, Mail claim

A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving Chelsea…

Chelsea have told Nemanja Matic they do not want him to leave despite enquiries from Manchester United and Juventus, the Daily Mail say.

The 27-year-old midfielder is said to be keen to join former Blues boss Jose Mourinho at United.

But the Mail claim Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has told Matic he wants him to stay at the club.

Chelsea are hopeful of concluding a £30m deal to sign Leicester midfielder N’Golo Kante, again according to the Mail.

Leicester have offered the 25-year-old a new contract, reportedly worth more than £100,000-a-week, but Kante is said to be keen to move to Stamford Bridge.

Reports in the player’s native France suggest Chelsea have had an offer of around £29m accepted.

That has prompted The Sun to declare that the Blues are closing in on an £80m double deal for Kante and Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, who is apparently rated at £50m by the Italian club.

Reports in Italy, on the other hand, claim Everton are looking to beat Chelsea to the signing of Koulibaly.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror reports that Chelsea are on course to sign 19-year-old forward Gabriel Barbosa, known as Gabigol, from Brazilian club Santos.
