Transfer gossip: Blues eyeing Forster, Sun on Sunday claim

A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving Chelsea…

Chelsea will target Southampton’s England goalkeeper Fraser Forster if Thibaut Courtois looks to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, The Sun on Sunday say.

Amid speculation over Belgium keeper Courtois’ future, it is claimed that Forster, 28, has been lined up a potential replacement.

Barcelona are also said to be interested in Forster, but it is claimed that Chelsea are in pole position to sign him for £20m.

There continues to be speculation too over the future of Diego Costa, who has also been tipped to leave Chelsea.

The Sunday Times say the Blues are to be offered £72.1m to sell the Spain striker to the Chinese Super League.

Two clubs are said to be interested and have contacted Costa’s representatives ahead of a possible move.

And Paris St-Germain forward Edinson Cavani has yet again been linked with a possible move to Chelsea.

It comes after he told French television show Telefoot: “I have spent the three hardest years of my career [at PSG].

“Positive and negative things have happened, but a player can always improve, grow, and become more mature as a player and as a man.

“I am only thinking about giving everything for the next months of competition and finishing this year together with my team-mates fantastically like we did last year.

“And then I will surely have the opportunity to speak with the club.”

The Sunday Mirror reckon Cavani’s comments have put Chelsea and Manchester United ‘on alert’.
