Real recently sold Angel Di Maria to Manchester United for £59m and it is suggested this will enable Ancelotti to push for a big-money deal to sign Ramires. 27, either in January or next summer.

There has been speculation about Ramires’ Chelsea future

Meanwhile, it is suggested in the Daily Mail that QPR defender Rio Ferdinand is being considered as the FA’s candidate for British vice-president on Fifa’s executive.
