Chelsea have too much ammo for Newcastle

Chelsea, still unbeaten under Guus Hiddink, host Newcastle on Saturday and it’s difficult to see the result being anything other than a home win.

We make the Blues the 4/9 favourites, with Newcastle 7/1 to pull off a shock win and the draw 4/1.

The visitors are without the excellent Tim Krul in goal and despite his replacement Rob Elliot keeping a first clean sheet in nine games against West Brom at the weekend, Chelsea should have far too much ammo.

Diego Costa is 10/3 to score the opening goal and 5/6 to net anytime against the Magpies, but offers punters even further value at 6/1 to be named man of the match and 16/1 with BetVictor to score a hat-trick.

Costa’s late equaliser against Manchester United not only preserved the Blues’ unbeaten record under Hiddink, it saw Chelsea eased to 9/2 (from 4s) to achieve a top-six finish this season. It also led to us cutting the odds on Costa winning this season’s Player of the Year award – he’s gone from 100/1 to 50/1.

Chelsea are 5/1 and 16/1 respectively with BetVictor to win the FA Cup and Champions League this season.

Looking beyond May, we have seen strong support for Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri to replace Hiddink and he is now the 4/7 (from 6/1) favourite to be the next Blues boss.

Chelsea’s manager for the first match of 2016-17 Premier League season:
Massimiliano Allegri 4/7
Antonio Conte 2/1
10/1 bar
